Position Responsibilities
A global leader in higher education learning software and
campus card systems, is
searching for Software Development Engineer. Based in
Limerick, Ireland, you’ll be responsible for
developing enterprise software that is hosted in multiple
cloud environments providing online
transaction processing in a Software as a Service (SaaS)
environment and play an integral role in the
success of the product delivery and quality. Specifically,
you are responsible for:
Responsibilities:
· Work with the Development Manager, Solution
Architects & Development Team to understand and implement functionality for
updates and new solutions
· Analyze problems and implement solutions that
trade off architectural constraints of functionality, usability, performance,
reliability, and scalability
· Write and modify C#, JavaScript, and other
components in a high volume transaction processing, n-tier distributed
environment
· Design and implement modern RESTful APIs using
best practices to support new functionality
· Design and implement web-based user interfaces
using best practices to support new functionality
· Design and implement database schema changes and
write or modify stored procedures to support
· new functionality
· Program and execute unit test cases
· Support application during quality assurance,
user acceptance testing, and post release
· Comply with and contribute to consistent
development guidelines (coding, change control, build, versioning)
· Contribute to ongoing DevOps improvements
· Participate in peer code reviews
Required Skills:
· 3+
years of experience in software development C#, JavaScript
· 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
or similar relational database platform
· Experience developing applications for Microsoft
Azure, Amazon or other cloud platforms for large scale enterprise systems
· Experience with development for modern
orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Azure
· Service Fabric.
· Experience developing large scale distributed
systems.
· In-depth understanding of object-oriented
programming
· Advanced knowledge in the development of REST
APIs
· Hands-on experience with at least one Javascript
framework.
· Hands-on experience with .NET Framework &
.NET Core
· Solid understanding of writing and maintaining
Unit Tests including mock object frameworks
· Experience managing SQL schemas and writing
efficient queries on SQL databases.
· Experience with ORM frameworks e.g. Entity
framework.
· Experience with version control, preferably GIT
· Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum
· Experienced with continuous integration and
continuous delivery concepts
· Demonstrated analytical and problem solving
skills and planning skills
· Ability to understand technical requirements and
decompose them into work tasks
· Fluency in written and spoken English
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Terraform
and other DevOps tools desirable
· Experience using Application Performance
Management (APM) tools for cloud based applications
· Hands-on experience with Sencha Ext JS framework
· Experience with C++
