Axient is seeking an Operations Research Analyst Level III to join our Capability Development Analytics team at the Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements in Washington DC.

 

The Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements is responsible for analytic decision support to senior Air Force leaders; strategy development; operational concept development; operational challenge studies; operational/regional politico-military analysis; developing capability assessments; war and mobility planning support; requirements development; conducting net assessments; and Air Force Planning and Programming decision support of developing the Air Force of the future.  Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) are required to support analysis across all phases of Air Force design to support the strategic planning and programming process: strategy development, force design, concept formulation; threat assessment, exercises, modeling and simulation and continuous feedback loops.


What you will do...

 

  • Review the assigned AFF concept, capability, solution, or design. Determine what assumptions and constraints are implied in the reviewed assignment. Recommend a prioritization for testing assumptions and constraints. Formulate a value hypothesis that can be tested to advance, adjust, or eliminate the concept. Plan early technical solutions and requirements; determine M&S tool best suited to support the concept, capability, solution, or design being evaluated. Coordinate across the Air Force analytic community to identify best-practices, processes, and/or tools to ensure a holistic solution is recommended.
  • Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
  • Collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products.
  • Develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.

Skills you will need...

 

  • Seven (7) years of experience in operations research or technical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, operations research, or technical field. Master’s and/or PhD preferred. 
  • Clearance Required: This position requires a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
