Synopsis

A specialist warehouse and distribution company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, customer service-oriented Operations Support Shift Supervisor in Centurion. 

Job Description

The Operational Support Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the staff compliment on site is supplied per shift with the correct PPE and to support the Line Manager in administrative duties. 

Qualification and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualification
  • Industrial Services related  experience in a coordinative or Supervisory role

Roles and Responsibilities

SHIFT COORDINATION

  • Ensure shifts are fully staffed as per client contract requirements using assignee pool
  • Maintain and make use of a standby assignee pool per shift
  • Responsible for issuing protective equipment (and related documentation), prior to placing an individual on assignment
  • Ensure employees wear PPE as per SHEQ guidelines daily
  • Briefing of all assignees with regards to ACMS, as well as client operating policies, procedures, health & safety and labour relations issues prior to placing an individual on assignment or on the first day at client site
  • Monitor and ensure employees are using the biometric or relevant timekeeping system correctly
  • Monitor attendance and timekeeping of assignees
  • Ensure that all incidents involving disciplinary issues are fully investigated, recorded and acted upon in a legally defensible manner up to Written Warning and escalated to Line Manager;
  • Communicate and provide feedback client regularly and resolve employee queries timeously

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Immediately report Injuries on Duty (IOD’S) to the Line Manager or Regional Resource Manager
  • In the event of an Injury on Duty (IOD), ensure that the assignee gets first aid at the time of the incident and follow the ACMS guidelines for dealing with occupational injuries;
  • Brief and induct all assignees with regards to ACMS, as well as client operating policies, procedures, health & safety and labour relations issues prior to placing an individual on assignment or on the first day at client site;
