Outreach and Communications Support Associate
Background
The Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) supports the least developed countries (LDCs) in harnessing trade to promote sustainable and inclusive growth and development. Established in 2009, the EIF is a partnership, bringing together the resources and expertise of 51 LDCs and recently graduated countries, 26 EIF Funding Partners and 8 EIF Partner Agencies. The partnership provides demand‑driven, targeted support to the LDCs and recently graduated countries with the new vision of inclusive trade and investment for resilient, sustainable and transformative development.
The Executive Secretariat for the EIF (ES) is housed at the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, and the new programme cycle running from 2025-2031 is currently underway.
The Associate will be an integral member of the EIF's Partnerships, Outreach and Resource Mobilization team and will specifically support EIF digital communications work.
Responsibilities
Support the EIF's outreach and communications, including:
Support the ES's work on communications and social media, including drafting social media posts and audiovisual posts for social media. The Associate will moreover support the drafting of articles, briefs and newsletters for digital communications. This includes managing the social media calendar, including posting on various social media platforms, such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
Assist in managing all technical and creative aspects of the new EIF website, including homepage updates and development; tagging news stories and featured stories; and maintenance and identifying fixes.
Assist in the development of digital and visual communications materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, event flyers, short videos, etc.), including selecting and preparing relevant photos from the EIF database.
Provide support in documenting events where necessary, including taking photos and short videos when needed.
Provide general support and advise the ES on digital communications and liaise and coordinate with relevant WTO departments (including IERD and GEDPD) and partners around digital communications and outreach-related matters.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Partnerships, Outreach and Resource Mobilization team or as assigned by the Executive Director of the ES based on evolving priorities of the programme, for instance, support strategic communications development.
Education, knowledge and experience
Required qualifications and competencies
Master's degree in communications, IT or a related field.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong understanding of communications, particularly digital communications and social media.
Knowledge of web and social media tools, such as Sprout Social and Google Analytics. Sound knowledge of Drupal would be a significant advantage.
Proficiency in video and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Canva or similar).
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
Familiarity with online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams or similar).
Desirable
Experience in tailoring information for specific audiences.
Work experience in an international organization or non-governmental organization in the international development sector and an understanding of the challenges faced by developing countries.
Working knowledge of French.
Knowledge of thematic topics prominent in the EIF's work (Aid for Trade, digital trade, women's economic empowerment, climate and development, regional trade agreements, trade and development policy).

Supervision
The Partnerships and Outreach Coordinator will be the direct supervisor. The Associate will work closely with the Programme Partnerships Officer and with other members of the ES team.
Terms and conditions:
The consultancy dates are 1 to 31 August 2026.
The Associate will be paid a consultancy lump sum fee of CHF 6,000.
