Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to fill the role of Teacher Support Advocate and Classroom Floater. In this unique position, you will serve as a valuable resource to support teachers in their instructional efforts while also providing flexible coverage in various classroom settings as needed. As a Teacher Support Advocate and Classroom Floater, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for both educators and students.
Responsibilities:
1. Teacher Support:
- Assist teachers in navigating challenges related to classroom management, student behavior, and academic differentiation.
2. Classroom Floating:
- Provide flexible coverage in classrooms when teachers are absent or need additional support, ensuring continuity of instruction and a safe learning environment for students.
- Adapt quickly to different subjects, and teaching styles, and follow lesson plans provided by regular classroom teachers.
- Engage students in meaningful learning activities and facilitate small group instruction as needed.
- Support classroom management efforts by enforcing policies and procedures, managing student behavior, and addressing conflicts in a positive and proactive manner.
- Assist with classroom organization to support the smooth operation of the learning environment.
3. Collaborative Teamwork:
- Work closely with administration, instructional coaches, and other support staff to coordinate efforts and align support services with school goals and priorities.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborative planning sessions to share insights, exchange ideas, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with teachers, students, and families, fostering a sense of community and trust within the school community.
Requirements:
-Minimum CDA required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and families.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom environments and grade levels, and to respond to changing priorities and situations.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, maintain professionalism, and exercise sound judgment in challenging situations.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a passion for supporting the success of all students and educators.
Hours: Up to 19.5 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $17 - $19 per hour based on experience
