SUMMARY
The Part-Time Instructor for Artificial Intelligence in Continuing Education focuses on teaching excellence and student success. This position is responsible for the planning, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of AI courses, as well as completing required documentation to ensure compliance with college, state, federal, and/or grant guidelines.
The Instructor designs curriculum and learning outcomes that prepare students to understand and apply artificial intelligence concepts and tools in real-world settings. Must be willing to teach day or evening classes in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats as needed.
Part-time, Up to 28 Hours/Week
These positions run on a continuous open cycle and creates a pool of candidates for consideration when part-time employment is available. - Develop and deliver Artificial Intelligence instruction necessary for students to gain foundational knowledge and practical skills applicable to workforce and industry needs.
- Develop and/or approve class schedules under the direction of Continuing Education leadership and department staff as requested.
- Provide effective instruction in classroom, hybrid, and/or online formats by preparing lesson plans, lectures, course outlines, and syllabi.
- Select and utilize appropriate instructional materials, technologies, and AI tools for assigned courses.
- Maintain accurate records (attendance, grades, assessments, documentation, etc.) and submit required reports in accordance with departmental and college guidelines.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences and applied activities that reinforce real-world AI applications.
- Communicate effectively with adult learners from diverse professional and educational backgrounds.
- Use effective evaluation methods to measure and document student learning outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and learning management systems used for course delivery.
- Assist in marketing and recruitment efforts to promote AI courses and programs.
- Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, orientations, and professional development activities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with business, industry, and community organizations to support workforce training and program relevance.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution preferred.
- Industry-recognized certification(s) in Artificial Intelligence, data analytics, or related technology fields preferred.
- Demonstrated ongoing professional development and continuing education in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, or instructional methodologies required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional experience in artificial intelligence, technology, data, business applications, or a related field required.
- Teaching or training experience in an educational, corporate, or workforce development setting preferred.
- Experience in higher education or continuing education preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team; strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written) required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technology platforms required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Some walking, standing, and bending required, and the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- The work environment can be stressful at times in dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines.
