Position Duties

Instruct courses in developmental integrated reading and writing. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face-to-face and non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining office hours, working across departments to develop student communication, and computation and critical thinking skills. 

NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical effort-restricted; sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis.  Work environment-minimal hazard/exposure; standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.

BENEFITS:

Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  Integrated Reading & Writing (INRW): Minimum Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in English or another discipline requiring extensive written work, or a Bachelor's degree in any area with evidence of writing expertise (i.e. published work). 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in English or another discipline requiring extensive written work, or a Bachelor's degree in any area with evidence of writing expertise (i.e. published work).
