VCA West Linn is searching for a part-time, experienced Client Service Representative who enjoys being a member of the vet med field with a cohesive, tenured team. We are a reputable, 2 doctor, small animal practice in a tight knit community. We have a long history with our clientele who treat us like long-time friends. Our hospital has a family-like feel. We are AHAA accredited and specialize in wellness, preventative and chiropractic care. VCA West Linn is 10 team members strong currently and we look forward to expanding.  This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated CSR to join a growing practice focused on high quality patient care and a memorable client experience.

Our hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8 am - 6 pm. Ideally, we are looking for another Client Service Representative who would be willing to work 2 - 3 days a week and has a somewhat flexible schedule in the event we may need additional coverage occasionally.

Compensation

$17 - $19/hr based on experience

Why We Need You


As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the hospital as we build and maintain each customer’s trust and confidence in our abilities.   The CSR is the foundation around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:


• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pet into the hospital.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions and VCA CareClub plans.
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.

• Closing the register and front desk, at time entire hospital some shifts.
• Light hospital maintenance, ensuring that the facility and lobby are neat and clean at all times.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience (in a veterinary or healthcare setting is preferred).

  • Ability to keep calm under pressure. Relevant experience working and accommodating challenging clients.

  • Friendly, outgoing, people-oriented personality.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to ask for support when needed.

  • Detail oriented, dependable and responsible.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Can take direction.

  • Ability to handle client transactions, invoices and payments, accurately.

  • Most possess sound decision making skills and multi-tasks while working in an environment of stress.

  • Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste
