We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to lead the migration of an existing on-premises Kubernetes platform to the LightOps platform, guiding technical strategy, risk mitigation and delivery team composition throughout the transition.
Responsibilities
- Familiarize with the current platform landscape spanning microservices, event-driven processing, graph-based modeling and time-series ingestion
- Review the target architecture and confirm alignment with business and technical objectives
- Validate the overall migration strategy across workstreams
- Identify risks and gaps within the proposed migration approach
- Refine resource requirements based on project scope and complexity
- Define migration workstreams and their dependencies
- Establish a migration roadmap with clear sequencing
- Support the interview and evaluation process for additional consultants
- Influence the final composition of the delivery team
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Kubernetes platform engineering with expertise in Helm and GitOps practices including ArgoCD
- Expertise in Kubernetes security and multi-service platform migrations
- Hands-on experience with Service Mesh implementations including Istio, gateway management and authorization policies
- Proficiency in traffic routing and service-to-service communication within service mesh environments
- Background in security practices including HashiCorp Vault and secret management
- Knowledge of OIDC/OAuth2 and zero-trust architectures
- Experience leading platform adoption programs, Kubernetes modernization initiatives and complex application migrations
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Kafka, Strimzi and PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of Cassandra, KEDA and Prometheus/Grafana
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and Coraza WAF
- Background in Operational Readiness programs and SRE practices
