Job description

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY:  

The Triple P Program Manager will oversee the implementation and contract execution of Triple P and supporting activities in Cherokee, Graham, Clay, Macon, Swain, Jackson, Haywood, Transylvania, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Buncombe, Madison, Yancey, Mitchel, McDowell, and Burke Counties.  

 

The overall purpose of the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) is to provide access to evidence-based parenting support and resources to caregivers through successful program adoption and delivery of Triple P within mental health agencies, non-profit family services, courts systems, and private and public health systems.  

 

The Triple P Program Manager will work with and build community systems to strengthen the Triple P initiative, coverage, and support activities, to serve families of children 0-17 as well as parents of children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities The Triple P Program Manager will monitor regional outcomes related to child maltreatment, child injury, and parent stress.  

 

The Triple P Program Manager will plan and manage the development, implementation, training and execution of sub-programs, special projects, and other initiatives designed to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the program.  

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 Supervision 

  • Lead inter-professional team of 3 to continuously improve systems and quality of service in region 

  • Manage schedules 

  • Meet regularly with staff for supervisory coaching and check-ins 

  • Provide feedback for employee improvements 

  • Review employee performance 

  • Develop Strategic Implementation plan for Triple P 

  • Collaborate with Rural Health Initiative Team to expand rural relationships 

  • Partner with local, regional and state agencies to ensure workforce development needs are met 

 

Program Management 

  • Serve as day to day contact for state and Triple P America 

  • Lead the implementation of policies, practices and procedures across agencies in Cherokee, Graham, Clay, Macon, Swain, Jackson, Haywood, Transylvania, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Buncombe, Madison, Yancey, Mitchel, McDowell, Burke Counties 

  • Manage program budget and expenditure processes, ensuring to follow financial procedures 

  • Ensure MOA’s are up to date, signed and followed by agencies 

  • Plan and coordinate logistics for all trainings, local quarterly leadership and coalition meetings 

  • Plan, implement and monitor the progress of departmental and client projects. 

  • Create detailed work plans that identify the sequence of activities needed to successfully complete projects 

  • Develop a timeline with agencies for training and project completion and ensure assignment of tasks and communication of deadlines 

  • Ensure the development of clear project objectives and measurement to guide evaluation of success and ongoing learning  

  • Maintain records of the project activities and lessons learned 

  • Responsible for the resolution of issues pertinent to daily Triple P activities 

  • Support civil communication among team members as well as across community collaborators and agencies  

  • Establish a communication schedule and maintain reporting tools to update key stakeholders on the progress of the project 

  • Leads interviews and make hiring recommendations for Triple P Positions 

  • Establish pertinent community partners and maintain appropriate contact needed for program success  

  • Coordinate, plan, and lead Triple P leadership/Stakeholder meetings 

  • Clarify, re-brand, and re-build trust around positive parenting within the community  

  • Develop more concrete social networks and utilize them to strengthen partnerships as skill, knowledge, and capacity allows, and participate in program evaluation and publication of departmental and client projects  

  • Implement the Stay Positive media-based parent campaign, develop relationships with local media outlets, and serve as spokesperson in close collaboration with program director 

  • Participate in the North Carolina Triple P State Learning Collaborative to share best practices 

  • Lead sustainability efforts, including the development of a Sustainability Manual 

  • Assist with referrals by connecting caregivers to local Triple P services (including Triple P Online) 

 

Outreach, Readiness Assessment and Training Support  

  • Review potential practitioner applications, interview, select and train chosen practitioner for the Triple P Program 

  • Responsible for oversight of on and off site events and project activities 

  • Leads and supports onboarding and training of new Triple P Practitioners  

  • Collaborate with Frank Porter Graham Institute and Triple P America to ensure best practices of Implementation 

  • Maintain communication with other state Triple P Specialists and Managers 

  • Provide guidance to agencies in Triple P intervention selection based on best fit for your organization/department 

  • Provide Triple P administration support  

  • Host Triple P Trainings and support providers through the training and accreditation process 

  • Help agencies and Triple P Providers to ensure proper onboarding implementation of Triple P within their agency/department 

  • Maintain communication with participating agencies at least monthly through telephone calls, email, mailings, and site visits regarding Triple P activities and positive parenting-related opportunities available to your agency and other organizations  

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure coaching and peer support within the agency for Triple P Providers after training 

  • Use feedback data from Triple P Trainers to hone new trainees Triple P skills  

  • Coordinate access to provider website and on-line access to tools and evaluation reporting system 

  • Provide support to Agencies and Providers to turn in quarterly data 

 

Resource Development 

  • Plan, develop, and implement strategies for identifying and generating funding and/or resource opportunities for program activities, to include development of grant and other fundraising proposals 

  • Forecast program needs related to resource development, budget projection, and team development. 

  • Work with state stake holders to ensure ongoing funding of project 

 

Data Support 

  • Works with NC Department of Public Health and MAHEC Project and Data Manager to collect, analyze and disseminate program activity data 

  • Interacts with data evaluation and quality improvement team to support data collection and dissemination to grow awareness of outcomes within agencies and our communities 

  • Use data to inform ongoing work of Triple P in Cherokee, Graham, Clay, Macon, Swain, Jackson, Haywood, Transylvania, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Buncombe, Madison, Yancey, Mitchel, McDowell, Burke Counties. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Supervises team per state contract  

Provides daily guidance, supervision and direction on tasks within agencies with Triple P Trained practitioners

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

Minimum Qualifications.   

  • Master’s degree and at least one year experience in project management or a Bachelor’s degree with three years of project management experience, and the capacity to demonstrate working knowledge of public health, behavioral health healthcare and workforce development programs.  

 

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and database applications required. 
  • Ability to learn new software applications. 
  • Experience with audiovisual (A/V) equipment required; experience with educational technology preferred. 

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: 

  • Excellent written and verbal skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with individuals and groups 
  • Ability to lead and work as an effective team member

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

    • Moderate noise level typical of a business office with computers, printers, and light foot traffic.   

    • Must have ability to adjust schedule to work occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours.   

    • Local/regional travel is possible. 

    SCHEDULE: 

    • Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader. 

    COMPENSATION:

    • $70,000 annually (exempt) + MAHEC Full-Time Total Rewards Package
