Job Description

Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. The college is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia; the counties of Alleghany, Bath, Botetourt (northern portion) and Rockbridge; the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, and Lexington; and the town of Clifton Forge. MGCC is accepting applications for adjunct faculty for the Fall 2026 semester term to perform clinical teaching and evaluation with the Practical Nursing students in the following clinical practices: Med Surgical and Health Assessment.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

Current licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia. ADN required. A minimum of two years’ full-time work experience in the field. Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Effective written and oral communication skills; Excellent organizational skills; Flexibility and ability to prioritize and work independently; Critical thinking and clinical judgement skills.
