Job description

Description

Are you passionate about enabling Amazon's workforce to operate securely and efficiently at massive scale? Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS) is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead strategic initiatives that directly impact every Amazon employee and agent's ability to do their jobs effectively while protecting customer data and intellectual property.

In this high-visibility leadership role, you'll drive security outcomes across all of Amazon by partnering with technical teams and stakeholders to balance productivity, access, and risk. You'll shape how Amazonians and agents access the systems they need—and only what they need—to deliver value without compromising availability, durability, or reliability. This is your opportunity to influence security strategy at unprecedented scale while enabling the business to move faster.

Key job responsibilities
Lead strategic program management across multiple organizations and business units, translating high-level security strategy into actionable technical roadmaps and delivery plans.

Drive consensus and alignment among diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, business leaders, and senior executives, through clear executive communications and data-driven decision making.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Amazon to define business and technical requirements, establish delivery scope and timelines, and drive accountability for security outcomes.

Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in identity provision, protection, and access management systems, initiating deep dives and working sessions to mitigate complexity.

Develop and promote program management best practices and scalable mechanisms that enable teams to work independently while advancing organizational security goals.

A day in the life
You'll work with stakeholders and customers across all parts of Amazon and internally within security to drive strong, customer-focused security outcomes. Your day involves partnering with technical teams to map their work to high-level strategy, building comprehensive plans, and driving accountability across every business unit. You'll help Amazonians access the systems they need while enabling agents to perform their functions productively. You'll make trade-offs and decisions that balance enabling the business with managing risk—ensuring solutions don't compromise availability, durability, or reliability.
