ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Engineering of assigned area of glass fabrication.
- Manage process related tooling in preparation for each production run.
- Trouble-shoot line operations.
- Issue and revise drawing and process sheets as a result of continuous improvement in the process.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement in capability and/or scrap reduction.
- Verify conformance of components to customer specifications.
- Analyze weekly production results, identify deficiencies and implement the necessary improvements.
- Work with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput and improve the products’ dimensional capability.
- Train operators how to safely and effectively operate plant equipment and machinery.
REQUIRTEMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical recommended
- 2 to 5 years in manufacturing environment, glass assembly desired
- 6-Sigma – Green or Black Belt
- PLC experience preferred
- Fluent in use of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Proven track record of cost reduction in process manufacturing by means of equipment uptime, scrap reduction, cycle time improvement or downtime reduction.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams seeking best possible solutions for improvements.
- Must be hands-on.
- Valid driver’s license required for business travel.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines
- Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels
- Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations
- Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays

- Experienced in QAD System or similar – Order tracking, PO’s and Requisition
