Process Engineering Group Manager–Design Authority Engineering SRPPF

The Process Engineering Group Manager serves within the Design Authority Engineering organization supporting the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) Project. This role leads technical execution and oversight for multiple SRPPF process systems, including chemical processing systems, and ensures engineering rigor through the fabrication and construction phases of the project.
As the project transitions from design completion into Title III/construction execution, the Design Authority organization’s role becomes increasingly focused on fabrication and construction. The Group Manager plays an important role in ensuring that the fabrication and construction team adheres to system requirements, codes/standards, and the approved technical baseline. The Manager serves as the primary point of contact for technical issue resolution and is responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders, design agencies, and management as necessary to drive resolution.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain system requirements and ensure code/standard compliance throughout fabrication and construction.
• Review supplier deviations, non-conformances, and design changes for compliance with relevant system requirements.
• Review and evaluate design changes and field work to ensure alignment with the Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis (PDSA). Initiate required changes to the safety analysis when required.
• Contribute to safety basis development, including the Consolidated Hazard Analysis (CHA) process and DSA/TSR development.
• Provide technical input and guidance to resolve emergent issues resulting from glovebox and process equipment fabrication and installation.
Project Execution & Planning
• Track and manage work activities assigned to the Process Engineering group and provide accurate schedule updates.
• Work with project and engineering management to forecast upcoming work and plan staffing and priorities accordingly.
• Support fabrication and construction execution through coordination with other internal organizations, design agencies, fabricators, and construction.

Leadership & Personnel Development
• Lead and cross-train engineering personnel to develop a capable technical team.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews and work with employees to set and achieve performance and development goals.
• Demonstrate and encourage technical rigor, strong communication, and accountability within the group.

• Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
• BS in an Engineering field

• Experience in operations, engineering, or other capital projects

• Experience working in the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE)
