Job Description:

The Role

Product Manager is a newly redefined role that will take on end-to-end ownership of individual product offerings within our product portfolio. This position presents a unique opportunity to drive innovation in our existing and new products, aligned to Fastmarkets’ strategic goals.

We are looking for a commercially focused Product Manager with experience in B2B data products, who works closely with customers to deeply understand their needs and translate those insights into effective go-to-market strategies and market development initiatives, whilst also understanding the full product lifecycle

As a key contributor in our cross-functional squads, you will collaborate closely with Tech, Data, and Design contributors, ensuring that your insights and expertise shape the development process and our commercial propositions. This role is critical to the next stage of our growth, providing exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including Generative AI. If you are passionate about driving product excellence and eager to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand trends, customer behaviour, and competitive dynamics. Utilize insights to inform product strategy and roadmap development, working closely with the Product Director
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse complex data sets to extract actionable insights. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product performance and make informed recommendations for improvements.
  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Define and execute the product roadmap in alignment with the company’s vision and objectives. Utilize strategic thinking to prioritize initiatives effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and content (editorial, analytics) teams to ensure successful product development and launch. Foster open communication to align on goals and deliverables.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers through interviews, surveys, and feedback sessions to validate product concepts and gather insights on user needs and pain points.
  • Problem Solving: Employ creative problem-solving skills to address challenges throughout the product lifecycle. Innovate solutions that enhance user experience and product functionality.
  • Leadership & Initiative: Lead cross-functional teams by motivating members and driving alignment towards common objectives. Take initiative to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Forecasting & Measurement: Develop forecasts for product direction based on market analysis. Measure progress against goals, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure success.

Qualifications:

We recruit talented, dynamic people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, all united by a belief in our mission to provide the world’s leading and most trusted price reporting, events, and intelligence service for the markets we serve. We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and are committed to creating a fully inclusive workplace, where everyone feels able to participate and contribute meaningfully.

If you are open-minded, curious, resilient, solutions-oriented and committed to promoting equality, then read on...

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or related roles within a B2B environment. Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products throughout their lifecycle.  Experience in pricing and packaging and working with customers to understand the full value of digital solutions to their businesses is a plus
  • Market Acumen: Strong understanding of market trends relevant to our business, including macro-economic trends, commodities market trends, customer segments and emerging technologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel) with experience interpreting complex data sets to derive insights.
  • Product Management Methodologies: Familiarity with modern product management practices (e.g., Agile, Lean) and principles from industry leaders.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical thinking with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions.

If you're excited about the role but your experience, skills or qualifications don't perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway.
