Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free 

  • Conducts safety initiatives (safety & behavioral observations), investigates and documents all incidents together with EHS; conducts safety meetings; authorizes work and signs permits; participates in the plant safety committee

  • Overseeing the entire production process, from planning to completion 

  • Managing production schedules and resource allocation to meet specifications and deadlines (lead times)

  • Monitor production (KPI) to resolve issues; set up the goals

  • Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives, understand requirements and control results 

  • Cooperate with other Production Managers from other facilities (in other sites/countries) to share experiences

  • Focus on continuous improvement (eliminating bottlenecks) by initiating LEAN project (with support of active project leaders)

  • Estimate costs and implement cost-saving strategies

  • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (skill matrix)

  • Determine number of necessary resources (workforce), track the absenteeism level

  • Ensure output meets quality standards

  • Report to upper management

 

To become a production manager, you will be required to have a range of skills. These include:

  • Leadership skills as well as the ability to work within a team

Qualifications

  • Education: technical background (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, eg. Production Management or Industrial Engineering)

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role (min 5 years)

  • Manufacturing experience – preferably in the plastics industry

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma)

  • Knowledge of QC/QA (Quality Control/Quality Assurance) and health & safety standards (HSE)

  • Budgeting and cost control experience

  • Fluent English
