Program Analyst / Documentation Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Program Analyst / Documentation Specialist to support Department of the Navy (DoN) customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe products, and experience in technical documentation development and database management.
This position is responsible for compiling and organizing technical information, collaborating with government stakeholders to refine technical documents, monitoring and updating schedules, coordinating stakeholder briefings, and ensuring timely deliverables that meet specified government format and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of complex administrative, analytical, and documentation development tasks in support of Navy customers.
- Compile, review, edit, and format technical documentation, reports, and presentations to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Collaborate with government customers to gather, organize, and refine technical information into final technical deliverables.
- Coordinate with government personnel to schedule and prepare time-sensitive briefings with Navy activities; monitor and report assignment schedules on a regular basis.
- Edit recurring deliverables, including monthly status reports, briefings/presentations, and technical documents.
- Facilitate secure data transfers as a Media Transfer Agent (MTA), following all applicable security policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update document deliverable logs, document inventories, and databases for Navy customers to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Ensure all deliverables meet specified deadlines, quality standards, and security/handling requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
- Demonstrated experience managing documentation in a professional environment (e.g., version control, tracking, and archival).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Department of the Navy (DoN) projects or working on government contracts.
- Familiarity with Navy-specific style guides, document standards, and formatting requirements.
- Proficiency with Navy IT systems and associated tools used for document management and data transfer.
- Advanced document formatting and production experience, including Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment and adapt to evolving customer needs and priorities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience performing administrative support, technical documentation preparation, and database management, preferably in support of Department of the Navy (DoN) or other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Secret clearance required (TS clearance preferred).
