Job Description:
The Program Analyst I (Intern) will analyze account transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies. They will maintain and reconcile program funding and expenditures, prepare management reports, analyze and resolve discrepancies in billings and payments and recommend improvements to financial management policies and procedures.
The Analyst will report to the Program Finance Director and interface directly with our internal team, government customer, and project performers. Assigned taskings will be in support of a portfolio that includes dozens of simultaneously active projects at varying stages of funding and prototype lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Tracking and Analysis
- Track and maintain the financial impacts of agreement awards and modifications within an assigned Other Transaction Agreement program.
- Synthesize project financial and schedule information to support liquidity requirements.
- Validate the accuracy of financial data to maintain audit readiness.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and aligned with program requirements.
Invoicing and Payment Processing
- Submit invoices in accordance with OT agreements and milestone payment schedules.
- Facilitate vendor payments, including verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Reconciliation and Financial Records
- Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Execute data entry actions within internal financial systems and dashboards.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records to support reporting and compliance.
Stakeholder Support and Coordination
- Interface with customers and internal teams to manage program funding receipt and availability.
- Serve as a financial liaison for performer and government inquiries, including troubleshooting requests.
- Provide responsive support to stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations across projects.
Qualifications Expected for Position:
Required Education/Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or closely related field or equivalent experience
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Required Experience and Abilities
- 1+ years of financial, accounting, or contracting experience with federal contracts
- Demonstrated understanding of government financial and accounting practices
- Data entry expertise with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs
- Ability to learn and utilize financial and accounting systems
- Ability to maintain confidential and accurate records
- Ability to work in a detail-oriented, deadline-driven environment while supporting multiple active projects.
Preferred Experience and Abilities
- Direct experience working with DFAS and WAWF
Location:
- DC Metro Area, MD, VA only as this is onsite

- Travel for this position is estimated up to ≤5%
