We operate across Treaty 6, 7, and 8 territories and are a founding member of the Low Carbon Cities Canada (LC3) network.

About the Role

Are you an organized, detail-oriented project coordinator with a passion for sustainability? Alberta Ecotrust is looking for a Program Coordinator to join our small, friendly, and flexible team. In this role, you will blend your event management and administrative expertise to support initiatives that build capacity around emissions-neutral buildings and deep energy retrofits across Alberta.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love connecting with people, and want to help cities across Alberta reach their climate action targets, we want to hear from you!

What You Will Do

  • Event Coordination: Lead the logistics, partnership coordination, outreach, and delivery of building-related events, workshops, webinars, and conferences.
  • Network & Partnership Building: Maintain and grow the ENBIX network, collaborating with industry professionals, academic institutions, NGOs, and municipal climate teams.
  • Communications Support: Work with our communications team to promote events and synthesize content into training materials, case studies, podcasts, and social media channels.
  • Administration & Reporting: Manage procurement contracts, track GHG emissions metrics for operational reporting, handle CRM data, and maintain audit-ready files.
  • Ambassadorship: Represent the buildings team and Alberta Ecotrust at public events and strategic community initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Event & Admin Training: Formal training or direct experience in event management, capacity building, meeting logistics, or curriculum development.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Tech Savvy: Strong aptitude for modern software, data analysis, and CRM tools.
  • Financial Acumen: Comfort managing contracts, procurement files, and tracking metrics.
  • Adaptability: A proactive, conscientious team player who stays calm under pressure and manages multiple shifting priorities with a high eye for quality.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends and travel across Alberta as required.

Great to Have (Assets):

  • Technical knowledge or awareness of emissions-neutral buildings, energy auditing, deep energy retrofits, construction, or building design.
  • Experience with IT or organizational technology management.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: $53,000 to $70,000 per year.
  • Work-Life Balance: 37.5-hour work week with every third Friday off (Earned Days Off) and flexible work arrangements.
  • Time Off: 3 weeks of vacation plus a paid Christmas break.
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental package starting after 3 months.
  • Growth: A strong organizational commitment to your professional development and personal career goals.
