ABOUT BEANSPROUTS:

Founded in 1980 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Beansprouts offers preschool, after-school, and day camp programming and serves children from ages 1.9 to 9. Brooklyn Beans, our non-profit organization located in Park Slope, offers after-school programming at PS 39 during the school year. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Brooklyn Beans is seeking a Program Coordinator/Site Director to join our current team. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in both the administrative aspect of our programs and expand your experience with children. We are looking for someone who can be a strong addition to our team and provide experience and positive energy to our school-aged programs. Come join the fun at Brooklyn Beans!


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support after-school programming and activities in coordination with program directors
  • Assist with coordination and administration of school-aged programs including record keeping and documentation
  • Act as a role model to children and other team members, and demonstrate leadership to assure safety and development
  • Ensure a team-based work environment by communicating effectively and positively with supervisors, co-workers, families, and other team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule:

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Have at least two years of related experience at an established after-school or day camp program
  • Be working towards or possess an undergraduate degree–a major in the education field or related is strongly preferred!
  • Have working knowledge of emailing, scheduling, and creating spreadsheets
  • Have the ability to be creative, responsible, and think on your feet to create a fun and positive environment
  • Have the ability to build rapport, and communicate effectively with children, families, and other team members
  • Have the ability to engage with school-aged children and support dynamic programming and activities
  • Be willing to work Monday through Friday from 10 am - 6 pm during the school year and 8 am - 4 pm during the summer

Education:

  • Associate (Required)

Experience:

  • Experience with children: 3 years (Required)
  • Supervising: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Brooklyn, NY 11215 (Required)

Work Location: In person
