Job Overview

This position will support the UC Clermont Learning Commons to develop and grow our services to meet the needs of students in technology programs and asynchronous online courses. The successful candidate will oversee tutoring support for students in IT and related courses, and assist with AI tool development. This role requires a combination of IT skills and knowledge, project management skills, and a strong understanding of tutoring processes and policies.

Essential Functions

  • Scheduling on-campus and virtual tutoring support to students from a variety of backgrounds and levels of preparation.
  • In conjunction with program supervisor, monitor weekly usage, identify problems and solutions, develop clear goals and action steps for services enhancement.
  • Design, create and conduct workshops related to technology related courses.
  • Educate, communicate, liaise and perform outreach about technology tutoring and UC Clermont Learning Commons services to students, faculty, staff and other college stakeholders.
  • In conjunction with program supervisor, support the design and development of asynchronous resources, AI guides, and services.
  • Collaborate with staff to support recognition of student associates for outstanding performance.
  • Coordinate the timekeeping process (including UC Flex) for all UCCLC student associates.
  • Serve as the system administrator for scheduling and attendance tracking processes for all UCCLC services.
  • Supervise peer tutors and oversee tutoring observations to support quality improvement.
  • Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation surveys. Compile statistics and prepare reports for all Learning Commons Services including AI.
  • Assist in marketing strategies to engage students in tutoring, promote class supports to faculty and increase usage rates.
  • As departmental needs change, this position may be assigned to assist with new projects.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidate must have an associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Business Applications, or a related field
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and a “get it done” attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Microsoft Office and comfortable with data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and educational technologies
  • Experience with AI tool development and use in higher education.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
