•    Paid holidays are provided, including a two-week paid winter break.

•    Anthem PPO and HSA health plans are offered, with excellent dental options.

This is a full-time, grant-funded position with funding secured for an initial three-year term, and IALR is committed to pursuing additional funding to sustain this role and the important work it supports.

How You Will Help the Team

In support of IALR’s economic transformation mission, the Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator plays a key role in expanding high-quality work-based learning opportunities that strengthen the regional talent pipeline and meet employer needs. This role builds strong partnerships with educators, employers, and community stakeholders to ensure students and participants gain meaningful, paid, real-world experiences that prepare them for career success.

With a focus on Caswell County, Pittsylvania County, and Danville City, you will help scale internships, job shadowing, teacher externships, and other experiential learning models that directly support workforce development across the region.

What You Will Do

•    Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry and educational partners to design, implement, and scale paid internships, job-shadowing experiences, and other work-based learning opportunities.

•    Coordinate all facets of assigned work-based learning programs, including program design, employer and participant recruitment, orientations, and ongoing program support.

•    Collaborate with partners to deliver work-readiness training and ongoing participant supports that lead to successful program completion.

•    Partner with K–12 school divisions to increase and sustain student use of the MajorClarity online career exploration platform and post work-based learning opportunities.

•    Monitor trends, best practices, and policies related to work-based learning to ensure programs remain current and effective.

•    Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal program requirements and assist with required financial and programmatic reporting.

•    Represent the Advanced Learning Department at meetings, events, trainings, and professional development activities.

•    Share program information through presentations, meetings, civic engagements, and media in collaboration with IALR’s Communications Department.

•    Work collaboratively across all IALR divisions to support departmental goals and the organization’s strategic plan.
