About the Department
This position works closely with the AVP of Arts & Sciences on a variety of projects including helping to manage the expansion and coordination of educational programming and partnerships across the academic area. A principal responsibility of the role is assisting in management and growth of Continuing Education (CE) programming to ensure alignment with community and workforce needs. The position also supports the management of external partnerships and educational pathways, including K–12 initiatives, dual enrollment programs, and transfer opportunities with four-year institutions. In addition, the position assists in the management of grant compliance and supports key academic programs and events.
Position Duties
1. Development and expansion of Continuing Education (CE) programming within Arts & Sciences, ensuring alignment with community and workforce needs.
a. Helps manage community connections and market data to identify areas of growth for CE programing in Arts & Sciences at our central and suburban campuses.
b. Serve as a liaison with personnel in Arts, Humanities, and Education to identify opportunities, develop new offerings, and strengthen and grow CE offerings.
c. Serve as a liaison with personnel in Math, Science, and Engineering to identify opportunities, develop new offerings, and strengthen and grow CE offerings.
2. Assist in the development and management of external partnerships that strengthen educational pipelines.
a. Provide support for Central Piedmont Academy and helps monitor alignment with institutional priorities and K–12 partnership goals.
b. Assists Student Affairs as needed with Middle and Early College collaboration with the Arts & Sciences division.
c. Assists Student Affairs Office of Dual Enrollment as needed with the coordination of existing and cultivation of new dual enrollment partnerships with charter schools
d. Collaborate with Student Affairs to align recruitment strategies with academic programming and workforce pathways across Arts & Sciences.
e. Assist the Liaison for Articulation Agreements in the management of articulation agreements with bachelor's degree granting institutions to support seamless student transfer and degree completion.
f. Aid in the management of transfer initiatives, including the Transfer Intensive with UNC Charlotte, to improve student outcomes and strengthen institutional partnerships.
g. Assist program chairs in the management, organization, execution, and documentation of bi-annual transfer advisory boards.
3. Assist in grant management as needed through helping to identify opportunities, supporting proposal development, and collaborating with departments to ensure compliance.
4. Assist Program Coordinator for Arts & Humanities to ensure successful planning and delivery of Parr Arts and Humanities programing and assuring alignment with college mission and vision.
5. Assist Art Gallery Coordinator and the Program Coordinator for Math, Sciences, and Engineering as needed related to programing.
6. Provide frequent and detailed updates to the AVP-AA for Arts & Sciences regarding ongoing work in continuing education strategy and expansion, internal academic partnerships, grants development and management, and special programing and event support and liaise with key personnel in these areas to help further advance their work.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Associates degree
· Proven ability to build partnerships and collaborate with internal and community stakeholders
· Experience using data, managing multiple projects, and leading through influence
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree
· Experience in administration, management, and collaboration in a community college setting.
o Relevant higher education experience in CE, transfer, dual enrollment, and special program administration
o Experience with grants, enrollment strategy, and cross-functional collaboration between Academic and Student Affairs
