    Position Title:
       Program Management Support Paraprofessional
       ABLE Program - serving students with emotional/behavioral needs

    Paraprofessionals in the EBD Program Paras play an important role in providing behavioral and academic support to students and are often the first go-to person for students during the day.This video will show you what a day in the Emotional Behavior Disorder, or EBD Program, might look like. EBD settings include the VISION program for grades K-12 and the LOOK and ABLE programs that is typically geared towards grades 6-12.

    Salary:
       Class III ranging from $23.06 - $27.15 per hour
       *Wage placement based on similar experience

    Hours:
       6.2 hours per day (Approx. 7:55 am - 2:37 pm)
       5 days per week
      180 days per year
       
    Required Education:

    • High School Diploma
    • 60 credits post-secondary education or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam
    • PCA Certification (or the ability to obtain)

    Physical Requirements:
      Must have the ability to pass a pre-work physical exam including the following requirements:

    • Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must have ability to push/pull equipment including standers, wheelchairs, etc
    • Must have ability to repetitively reach overhead
    • Must have ability to transfer to/from floor
    • Must have ability to kneel

    Required Experience:
       Successful experiences working with speical education students in an educational setting preferred.

    Responsibilities:
    Work collaboratively with licensed and other staff to assist students with academic, behavioral/social/emotional, instruction, and daily living skills.

    • Assist in implementation of assigned tasks including instruction and assisting students academically
    • Monitor student's skills of independence and implementation of classroom of individual behavior management programs
    • Assist with daily living activities
    • Communicate student's progress with case managers
