Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

  • You will serve as the US/UK Principal Assistant Program Manager, supervising and managing a team of NH-03 and NH-04 personnel to support the UK's Polaris Sales Agreement and TRIDENT Programs.
  • You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by the employees in the program, setting priorities, preparing schedules for work completion, and ensuring the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.
  • You will be responsible for providing overall direction and guidance for the program organization, administration and civilian personnel.
  • You will be responsible for assigned cost, schedule, performance reporting and contract activities, logistics, budget and personnel management for all phases of the acquisition life cycle for a ship, submarine, carrier, ship system or weapon system.
  • You will design acquisition strategy and program baseline, and direct acquisition life cycle activities and all efforts associated with the program office or functional areas through subordinate managers and teams.
  • You will apply management and business principles to analyze situations, identify problems, probe causes and select courses of action for subordinate managers to pursue.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing program operations or functions (e.g., cost, schedule, performance reporting, contract activities, logistics, budget and personnel management) in all phases of the acquisition lifecycle to ensure the development, production and deployment for submarines or ship systems. This announcement uses the Acquisition Demonstration Project Business & Technical Management direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is part of the DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). The NH-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS 14-15 grade levels. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
