Job Description:
Working in the dynamic and expanding international - software development team, designing, developing and maintaining reliable systems updates and new features. With opportunities to work with and lead internal projects and work closely with our customers. The roll will primarily work with EU team, but have a global customer base, and may involve occasional international travel.
- Must have proven experience in Java, JEE, Spring cloud, Spring, hibernate. Spring boot, cloud native, PaaS knowledge is preferable.
- Proficient with SQL, Linux OS command line, using Oracle DBs, defining and executing automated tests.
- Ideally knowledgeable in design methods and principles.
- Be able to work independently as well be a team player, and deliver against a deadline.
Key responsibilities :
You will be part of the Global Sort Systems and Line Haul international department development team whose team members are distributed across multiple European countries. Your focus will be on developing and maintaining highly available, reliable, scalable sortation product.
The ideal candidate will [have / be]:
- Work as a full stack software developer in team of 10+ people, working closely with other development and technical teams (platform, infrastructure, networking, quality assurance/testing…).
- Lead or participate in various software development related activities.
- Be expected to provide high quality and tested deliverable.
- Take responsibility for mentoring and overseeing junior colleagues and contractors (depending on job level).
- Provide technical advice, design, build and maintain a core business critical IT application.
- Participate in all aspects of application development: analysis, design, documentation, coding, testing and support.
- Be involved in aspects of business and financial planning, service level management etc.
- Be working with multiple Intercontinental and diverse teams on global initiatives.
- Be required to travel on a limited basis, usually within Europe.
Qualifications:
- Good command of English.
- Strong experience with Java, JEE, spring cloud and related technologies, frameworks such as Spring, hibernate (SpringBoot, Jenkins, Graddle, Maven, IntelliJ, Eclipse, JMS etc.), XML and developing applications based upon Oracle databases.
- Experience client side technologies Angular or React is a plus.
- Sound understanding of Linux (from an application developer perspective).
- Self-starter who is willing to work with colleagues in a distributed environment to get the task done.
- Willingness to learn about business processes and engage with internal business partners.
- Agile development experience preferred (SAFE Agile a huge benefit)
