Progress DBA with Pro2SQL Expertise

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Progress Database
Administrator with strong Pro2SQL replication skills
to manage, optimize, and support our database environments. The ideal candidate
will ensure high availability, data integrity, and seamless integration between
Progress OpenEdge and SQL Server databases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer,
  monitor, and maintain Progress OpenEdge databases across
  Development, QA, and Production environments.
  

• Configure,
  manage, and troubleshoot Pro2SQL replication between
  Progress and SQL Server.
  

• Perform database
  dump & load, upgrades, and patching.
  

• Monitor
  database performance, tune queries, and optimize storage usage.
  

• Implement
  and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
  

• Ensure data
  consistency and integrity across replicated environments.
  

• Collaborate
  with application teams to support development and deployment activities.
  

• Maintain
  documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+
  years of experience as a Progress DBA.
  

• Hands-on
  experience with Pro2SQL replication setup, monitoring,
  and troubleshooting.
  

• Strong
  knowledge of Progress 4GL / OpenEdge database
  architecture.
  

• Proficiency
  in SQL Server administration and query optimization.
  

• Experience
  with Linux/Unix and Windows server
  environments.
  

• Familiarity
  with database security best practices.
  

• Excellent
  problem-solving and communication skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience
  with cloud-hosted Progress environments.
  

• Knowledge
  of ETL processes and data migration strategies.
  

• Exposure
  to DevOps tools for database automation.
