Position Summary

The Project Manager serves as the primary operational point of contact for assigned stone projects from order release through production and shipment. This role is responsible for coordinating customer requirements with plant execution, ensuring projects move through block selection, fabrication, quality review, and delivery in a manner that meets specification, schedule, and budget expectations. The Project Manager works closely with Operations, Estimating, Production, Quality, and subcontractors to ensure each project is executed in line with Polycor standards and customer-approved ranges.

What You’ll Do:

Project Execution & Coordination

  • Manage projects from purchase order through fabrication and shipment.
  • Coordinate with plant operations to schedule and prioritize work across cutting, fabrication, finishing, and shipping.
  • Select and allocate blocks and/or slabs based on customer specifications, approved ranges, and production feasibility.
  • Track project progress and proactively address risks related to schedule, material, or quality.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with architects, general contractors, and installers to ensure alignment on specifications and timelines.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns, including quality or delivery issues, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reporting to internal leadership.

Quality, Yield & Cost Management

  • Partner with production teams to ensure adherence to project-specific quality standards and finish requirements.
  • Analyze stone recovery and yield to optimize material usage and improve project performance.
  • Monitor production, labor, and material costs against estimates and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide feedback on estimating variances between projected and actual project outcomes.

Operational & Cross-Functional Support

  • Support project setup, including system entry, job tracking, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and production data, including WIP tracking and shipping records.
  • Coordinate subcontractors when required, including issuing purchase orders and overseeing quality of work.
  • Collaborate across departments and locations to share best practices and improve project execution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in reporting, systems, and operational processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in manufacturing or construction materials (stone, precast, or similar preferred).
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on plant experience.
  • Understanding of production environments, including scheduling, fabrication, and quality.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with material selection, yield, or production flow is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess production, material usage, and costs.
  • Comfortable with standard/metric measurements and material calculations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Willing to be hands-on in a plant environment.
