About This Role
Avala is seeking exceptional software engineers with deep expertise in Python to help train and evaluate the next generation of AI coding assistants. Your expertise will directly shape how AI models understand, generate, debug, and reason about production-quality code. The most advanced AI models are trained using feedback from expert engineers who can identify subtle bugs, architectural issues, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for optimization. Your reviews and evaluations become the training signal that makes these models more capable and reliable. Your work will involve: reviewing AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, security, and adherence to best practices; creating diverse programming challenges spanning algorithms, system design, debugging, and real-world applications; evaluating how well models understand software architecture and engineering trade-offs; providing structured feedback that helps improve code generation quality; and identifying edge cases where model performance needs improvement. We're looking for senior engineers with 5+ years of professional software development experience. You should have strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design; a track record of shipping production-quality code; experience with code review and engineering best practices; and the ability to evaluate code across multiple languages and paradigms. Experience at top tech companies or with high-scale systems is a plus.
