This is a remote position.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Python Developer with 8+ years of experience to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems, automated workflows, and data processing pipelines. In this role, you will evaluate existing application architectures and implement scalable cloud solutions that support our enterprise data strategies.


Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract (1 Year)
  • Pay Rate: (Incorporated)
  • Candidates must be currently located in Canada and possess valid Canadian work authorization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Backend & API Development: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs and backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Data Engineering & Automation: Architect complex data processing pipelines, data transformation layers, and automation scripts to optimize large-scale data workflows and system performance.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-native solutions, leveraging modern AWS serverless and containerized environments.
  • DevOps & Quality Engineering: Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines, manage infrastructure as code, and enforce automated testing practices to ensure code quality and system reliability.
  • AI & Engineering Practices: Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate feature implementation while enforcing strict security, performance, and code quality standards.


Required Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a heavy focus on enterprise-grade Python application development.
  • Frameworks & Languages: Mastery of Python, asynchronous programming, and deep experience working with modern frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
  • Modern Data & AI Stack: Hands-on experience with advanced data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Polars), vector databases, or integrating LLM/Generative AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain).
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Strong hands-on proficiency with AWS ecosystems, including AWS Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
  • DevOps & Tooling: Thorough understanding of modern CI/CD orchestration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and secure credential management.
  • Development Accelerators: Familiarity with AI pair-programming tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to maximize delivery efficiency.
