Job Title: Python Developer – Automation & Analytics
Location: Mumbai/Remote
Experience: 1–3 years (open to strong freshers with relevant projects)
Reporting to: Manager (Funds Research)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Python Developer to join our Funds Research team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in automating manual workflows, building macros, and creating intelligent tools to streamline processes related to portfolio assessment, mutual fund ranking, AIF benchmarking, Newsletters, Performance Scorecards and many more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation & Macros:
- Develop Python-based macros and scripts to automate repetitive tasks performed during various processes like portfolio analysis, mutual fund ranking, performance scorecards etc.
- Integrate automation into Excel, APIs, and internal systems.
- Web Scraping & Data Extraction:
- Build reliable and robust scripts to extract financial data from various websites, regulatory portals, and public disclosures.
- Schedule and automate these extractions for periodic updates.
- Data Validation & Error Reduction:
- Design validation layers to ensure the accuracy of the extracted and processed data.
- Implement checks to reduce manual errors and data inconsistencies.
- Automate Reporting:
- Automate the generation of various reports in the Funds research vertical.
- Build dynamic dashboards, visualizations, and periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with different teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document processes, code, and automation flows for future reference and scale.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Python with a strong understanding of libraries like pandas, openpyxl, requests, beautifulsoup4, and selenium.
- Experience in Excel automation (Excel Python APIs or VBA integration).
- Knowledge of web scraping and API integration.
- Strong data handling and validation skills.
- Familiarity with mutual fund, AIF, or investment analytics is a plus.
- Understanding of financial statements and performance metrics is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality output.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other dashboarding tools.
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
- Exposure to financial domain or past internships/projects in fintech/asset management.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Certifications or project work in Python or data automation will be an added advantage.
