Job Summary

As an Oracle & Trino Support Specialist for the pharmaceutical sector, you will ensure the operational excellence of database platforms supporting mission-critical pharma applications. Your focus will be on incident management, performance monitoring, and proactive problem resolution to maintain data integrity and system availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for Oracle and Trino database environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Manage incidents, service requests, and changes through ServiceNow, following ITIL best practices.
• Monitor database health and performance using Dynatrace and BigPanda, proactively identifying issues.
• Troubleshoot database connectivity, query performance, and data integrity issues.
• Coordinate with DBAs and development teams to escalate complex problems and implement fixes.
• Document troubleshooting procedures, known issues, and resolution steps in Confluence.
• Track and manage support tickets in JIRA, ensuring SLA compliance and timely resolution.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks and basic automation using shell scripts and SQL.
• Coordinate with cloud teams for AWS/Azure infrastructure issues affecting database environments.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in database support or IT operations, preferably with Oracle environments. Exposure to Trino environments.
• Strong understanding of ITSM processes (ITIL certified preferred) and experience with ServiceNow.
• Proficiency with Dynatrace, BigPanda, or similar monitoring tools.
• Experience with JIRA for ticket management and Confluence for documentation.
• Basic shell scripting and SQL skills for troubleshooting and routine tasks.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• Basic understanding of database administration and ETL processes is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Exposure to GenAI technologies and Gemini for AI-assisted operations and automation is a plus.

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in SQL, data analysis, or Python are a plus.
