Linux System Engineer
As a Linux Systems Engineer you will configure, integrate, and support internal network environments. The type of underlying components that support the infrastructure typically include Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the maintenance of existing and future platforms
- Provide support to existing and future subscribers
- Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot the system and the infrastructure that supports it
- Routinely interact with software developers and data teams
- Provide input to develop performance/security management of the platform
- Perform limited property accountability functions
- Ability to communicate both written and orally to customers and team members
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
Basic Qualifications:
- An active security clearance U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to secure and maintain an active DoD Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Systems, Network, or Industrial Engineering; Computer Science, Information Technology or Assurance, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or other related Scientific/Technical discipline from an accredited University.
- 10+ years working experience with systems administration on Linux, UNIX, ideally RHEL
- Experience with VMware
- Experience in scripting using BASH, CSH, PERL, Python, or other scripting languages
- Experience with basic networking
- Fundamental knowledge of cloud technologies
- Security + or DoD required certification or ability to obtain required certification
Preferred Experience:
- Certificates for Linux, VMWare, Apple
- SeLinux
- Experience with Solarwinds, Splunk, or other similar IDS/IPS devices
- Familiarity with DoD/Navy IT policies and regulations
