About the SnT...

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT) invites applications from PhD holders in the general area of Computer Sciences. SnT is carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable, and trustworthy ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental, or international partners. SnT is active in several international research projects funded by the EU H2020 and the European Space Agency.

Your Role...

The successful candidate will join the TruX research group led by Prof. Tegawendé F. Bissyandé and Prof. Jacques Klein. The selected candidate will contribute to projects in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, often in collaboration with industrial partners. She will perform the following tasks:

  • Shaping research directions and producing results in one or more of the following topics:
    • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
    • Machine Learning
    • Named Entity Recognition
    • Explainable Machine Learning
  • Attracting funding in cooperation with industrial partners
  • Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs, especially in the Fintech domain
  • Providing support in setting up and running experiments in collaboration with PhD students of the team and our industrial partners.
  • Implementing efficient solutions
  • Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students
  • Disseminating results through scientific publications
  • Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations

Your Profile...

  • A PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong interest in working with industrial partners
  • Competitive research record in NLP and/or Machine Learning and/or Software Engineering
  • Strong NLP and ML background, experience in anomaly detection is an asset
  • Practical experience with machine learning algorithms
  • Commitment, team working, and a critical mind
  • Fluent, written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
