Job description

The opportunity

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with two distinct functions: 16 hours per week supporting the assigned RSVP communities, and 24 hours per week providing flexible coverage and regional support at other sites based on need.

RSVP Function — 16 hrs/week

The Resident Services and Virtual Programming Coordinator supports residents across three physical apartment communities and one virtual community by coordinating programs, sharing resources, and helping residents access services both in person and through the Project Access app. The Coordinator plans and leads in-person activities, including some Saturday programming, while also supporting virtual programming and communication through the app and other basic online tools. The role does not require advanced technical skills, but candidates should be comfortable using the internet, web browsers, email, and basic social media platforms.

Site Coverage & Regional Support Function — 24 hrs/week

The remaining hours are used to provide flexible coverage and regional support at other Family and Senior Resource Centers, primarily in the Bay Area, CA (although may include other locations in Northern CA as needed). This may include covering scheduled vacancies, PTO, or leaves of absence for Resident Service Coordinators; supporting special events such as health fairs and community events; assisting with outreach and app engagement at other sites; supporting special projects; and providing temporary support at sites needing additional help — including during weeks when there is no specific absence to cover.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, building community, and helping residents connect to programs and resources in both in-person and virtual settings. The Coordinator should be organized, dependable, and able to work independently while creating a welcoming and supportive experience for residents.

What you’ll be doing:

RSVP Responsibilities

  • Deliver resident programs and services across assigned communities in alignment with Project Access program model, contracts, and core initiative areas.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a mix of in-person and virtual programs, workshops, and community-building activities for youth, families, adults, and seniors.
  • Build relationships with residents through regular outreach and engagement, including in-person interaction, phone communication, and app-based communication.
  • Support resident participation in the Project Access app by encouraging use, sharing resources, promoting events, and helping residents engage with available features and services.
  • Manage each site’s virtual presence through the content management system by posting announcements, events, newsletters, and other community updates.
  • Moderate app-based community activity, including community posts and related resident engagement features, to help maintain a respectful, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Host and support virtual programming offered through the app and help ensure it complements on-site programming and services.
  • Provide residents with information, referrals, and connections to relevant community resources and service providers.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with property management, community partners, and service providers to support programming and resident needs.
  • Coordinate food distributions, resource deliveries, and other supportive service activities as needed.
  • Maintain required program records, participation data, and routine reports in designated systems.
  • Assist with newsletters, calendars, flyers, and other outreach materials used to promote programs and services.
  • Help monitor resident participation, engagement, and program outcomes to support continuous improvement.
  • Support basic data entry and documentation needs related to resident services, program participation, and required forms.

Site Coverage & Regional Support Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage at other Family and Senior Resource Centers during scheduled staff vacancies, PTO, or leaves of absence (LOA), including managing day-to-day site operations while covering.
  • Support special events, such as health fairs and community events, at various locations.
  • Provide additional outreach and app engagement support at sites beyond the assigned RSVP communities.
  • Provide assistance with special projects at single-staffed Resource Centers on an ad hoc basis.
  • Provide temporary support at sites needing additional help, including during weeks when there is no specific staffing gap to cover.
  • Use a personal vehicle to obtain program supplies and attend off-site meetings, trainings, and events in accordance with company policy.

 What you’ll bring:

Education & Experience

  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Four years of experience in multi-family housing or related fields such as social services or community outreach; OR a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Experience in both:
    • youth programs
    • serving diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and community awareness.
  • Experience with virtual program delivery, webinar, content creation, or online community management strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Teams) and Outlook.  Basic with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Salesforce, and Concur.
  • Experience with mobile applications, content management systems, or database management preferred, community-based, and social media platforms.
  • Skills usage with iOS and Android mobile devices to include cell phones and tablets.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle simultaneous requests.
  • Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in verbal, written, phone-based customer service, and active listening.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to self-start, multi-task, and adapt between in-person and virtual service delivery.
