At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.  Join EY and help to build a better working world.

Our firm sets the standard for consulting services, fostering an environment that encourages career ownership at every stage. As part of our Technology Consulting sub-service line, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering transformative solutions that improve business operations. You’ll help clients drive growth, manage costs, and mitigate risk through the smart use of technology.

The opportunity
This role is part of EY’s SAP practice, which helps clients unlock business value through integrated technology platforms. We offer capabilities in Supply Chain, FICO, BPC, Data & Analytics, Customer, Tech/Arch, and SuccessFactors to drive operational efficiency and performance.

As a Staff 2 in our SAP practice, you will participate in the Consultant Development Program (CDP), a two-year program designed to build technical competency, consulting fundamentals, and project delivery experience.

You will engage with business stakeholders to understand operating models, processes, and needs—then collaborate with delivery teams to build, test, and validate solutions. You’ll help translate business requirements into system functionality, support technology implementations, and assess how effectively those solutions meet client needs.

Your key responsibilities
As a Staff 2, you will focus on delivery execution and cross-team collaboration. You’ll work directly with clients and internal teams, supporting both functional and technical activities to help ensure business objectives are met. Regular travel may be required to meet client needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in working sessions with clients to define, validate, and deliver solution components.
  • Analyzing data to support recommendations and solution design.
  • Documenting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Supporting configuration or integration across SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Assisting with test planning, execution, and issue resolution.
  • Generating system reports and supporting user training and adoption.

Skills and attributes for success
Success in this role requires both analytical and interpersonal strengths. You’ll be expected to collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and bring a structured approach to problem-solving.

  • Understanding of the systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and application functional design.
  • Ability to define, analyze, and map business and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with system integration concepts and business process design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work in hybrid or client-facing settings.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a desire to learn by doing.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, MIS, or related field.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant professional experience, internship experience supporting enterprise technology, ERP, business process transformation, or systems implementation initiatives.
  • Understanding of business processes in one or more areas such as Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, or Data & Analytics.
  • Familiarity with the systems development lifecycle (SDCL), requirements gathering, testing methodologies, and solution delivery processes.
  • Technical skills in application functional design are essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of the system development lifecycle is crucial for successful project execution.
  • Ability to define, analyze, and map technology business requirements.
  • Proficiency in conducting technological cost-benefit analysis.
  • Aptitude and/or experience in Java, JavaScript, .Net, Python, C, C++, PHP, web development, analytics focused tools and platforms such as SQL, R, Tableau, Power BI, business process design, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP or Oracle, or integration tools.
  • Strong relationship-building skills are necessary to foster client trust and value.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong complex problem-solving skills are necessary for addressing diverse challenges.
  • Critical thinking abilities are required for informed decision-making.
  • A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Foundational knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, or other enterprise resource planning platforms.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into functional or technical specifications.
  • SAP certification or pursuit of an SAP certification in a relevant functional or technical area.
  • A demonstrated interest in working in consulting as reflected in relevant course work, organizational involvement, or internships.
  • Experience with client engagement and project management.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion and manage multiple competing priorities in a demanding environment.
  • Familiarity with technological trends and their application in business contexts.
  • Skills in data analysis and interpretation for informed decision-making.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share, and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

What we look for
We seek individuals who are proactive, innovative, and eager to learn. Top performers in our team demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence, possess a collaborative spirit, and are driven by results. They thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges.

What we offer you
At EY, we’ll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences. We’ll empower you in a flexible environment, and fuel you and your extraordinary talents in a diverse and inclusive culture of globally connected teams. Learn more.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $76,600 to $126,300.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $91,800 to $143,400.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
