Job description

nLogic is seeking an experienced SATCOM Requirements Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. In this role, the SATCOM Requirements Systems Engineer will support systems engineering and requirements development for next‑generation MILSATCOM programs, contributing to MBSE activities, requirement analysis, and cross‑stakeholder integration for the U.S. Space Force.

You will join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force (USSF) satellite communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing, and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state of the art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities to assist with development and maintenance of technical baselines.

  • Develop, refine, and manage system and subsystem requirements, ensuring they are clear, traceable, and verifiable.

  • Analyze system requirements and participate in verification activities, including review of TRDs, ICDs, and related documentation.

  • Work with government and contractor teams to identify and close requirements gaps using tools such as DOORS.

  • Support and occasionally lead technical working groups: preparing meeting materials, documenting minutes, tracking actions, and fostering collaborative problem-solving.

  • Assist in assessing impacts to the system technical baseline and identifying integration considerations across stakeholders.

  • Review program documentation, capture reviewer comments, and collaborate with contractors on adjudication.

  • Provide technical input and assist in developing briefings for USSF program leadership.

  • Participate in risk, issue, and dependency management activities; help identify disconnects and propose solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain or currently possess a current, in-scope Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field

  • 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering or requirements management

  • Experience with requirements specification, analysis, and verification

  • Familiarity requirements traceability tools (e.g., DOORS)

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline, i.e., engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science

  • INCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP certification

  • MBSE certification (OCSMP)

  • Experience with Agile development tools or methodologies

  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence

  • Experience with MILSATCOM systems (AEHF, EPS, WGS, Tactical SATCOM, COMSATCOM)

  • Background working with DoD or military customers

  • Familiarity with space and ground systems such as satellite communications, terminals, or DoD networks
