Within the University, the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is a highly interdisciplinary research centre (IC), integrating experimental biology and computational biology approaches in order to develop the foundation of a future predictive, preventive and personalized medicine.

For our research activities, we are looking for scientific full stack developer to work on different research projects creating innovative software applications and solutions developed in-house including text-mining pipelines, data exploration platforms and data protection tools.

Your Role...

  • Research existing technologies and contribute to technology, benchmarks, selection and methodologies to apply to new and ongoing research projects
  • Conceptually design IT solutions within research projects
  • Analyse and collect of scientists / user requirements and design of new features
  • Write reliable and efficient code
  • Contribute to research, new approaches and IT solutions in Bioinformatics for translational medicine
  • Work closely with other team members aiming for a high level of quality and user satisfaction.
  • Design and develop tests using test automation suits
  • Contribute to valorization / publication of new findings and developments
  • Become a key actor of continuous improvement and innovation within the group

What we expect from you…

  • An interest in state-of-the-art technologies
  • Autonomous, dynamic and curious
  • Knowledge of the following technologies:
    • Java
    • Spring (-Boot, -MVC, -Security in particular)
    • Web development frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular
    • Python (basic knowledge)
  • Working knowledge of LINUX based systems
  • Experience in deploying applications
  • Working knowledge of code versioning systems (e.g. git)
  • A Un computer science or in another field but with equivalent proven experience as software developer
  • Expertise in the following is considered an advantage but is NOT mandatory:
    • Track record in production-level software projects
    • Continuous integration / delivery
    • Integration and unit testing
    • Elasticsearch
    • SQL & RDBMS
    • ORM with Hibernate or Spring Data
    • Docker
    • Kubernetes
    • Flask and/or Django
    • Bioinformatics
    • Other programming languages, such as Scala, R, Julia, …
