Role Description

Contineu is seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to join our dynamic and inclusive team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android development, with additional experience in iOS, and a proven track record of building and scaling applications from scratch.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android and iOS applications

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers and other developers

  • Implement new features and optimize existing ones

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices


Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience

  • Proven experience in developing Android applications from scratch and scaling them

  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different devices

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services

  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications

  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and libraries

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Flutter

  • Good to have: Experience with Kotlin or Java

  • Good to have: Experience with Swift or Objective-C

  • Good to have: Experience with iOS app development

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Contributions to open-source projects
