Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with strong experience in the IoT
domain to design, build, and scale backend systems for connected devices and real-time data processing. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise in Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Python, deep knowledge of MQTT, microservices architecture, and cloud-native deployments on AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Python
- Build and optimize IoT platforms handling device communication, telemetry, and real-time data ingestion
- Implement and manage MQTT-based messaging systems for reliable device communication
- Design and develop micro services architectures with RESTful APIs
- Implement authentication and authorization using Keycloak
- Work with MySQL and MongoDB for high-performance data storage and retrieval
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments using container orchestration tools
- Write and maintain Shell scripts for automation, monitoring, and deployment tasks
- Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, etc.)
- Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and product teams
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in backend development
- Strong expertise in Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Python
- Proven experience working in the IoT domain
- Hands-on experience with MQTT protocol
- Strong database skills in MySQL and MongoDB
- Experience implementing Keycloak for authentication and authorization
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS preferred)
- Strong Shell scripting skills (Bash or similar)
- Good working knowledge of AWS services
- Experience with Linux-based systems
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with high-throughput or real-time systems
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
