Job description

At OAS, we deliver innovative solutions that advance mission success for federal agencies. Our team combines deep technical expertise with a commitment to collaboration, integrity, and excellence. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, professional development opportunities, and the ability to contribute to critical aviation modernization efforts that impact the National Airspace System.

Join Objective Area Solutions

Objective Area Solutions (OAS) is seeking an experienced Senior Computer Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airports Data and Information Portal (ADIP). This position provides specialized software and product development expertise for an advanced geospatial platform that supports centralized airport data collection, management, validation, and distribution across the National Airspace System (NAS). The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in full-lifecycle software development, geospatial or data-intensive systems, API-first architecture, cloud-native engineering, and secure Agile delivery. This role supports the design, development, integration, testing, and modernization of ADIP applications and services, including the transition to the FAA unified cloud environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Software & Geospatial Development

  • Design, develop, and enhance ADIP applications and modules, including the Airport Geographic Information System (AGIS), Airport Data Manager (ADM), Management of Survey (MOS), Runway Safety Area (RSA), Runway Analysis Management (RAM), Runway Information Management (RIM), and Program Management Tool (PMT).
  • Support AGIS platform modernization, multi-format survey data integration, automated data validation frameworks, and digital Airport Layout Plan (ALP) capabilities.
  • Develop scalable distribution architecture for web users and automated systems through programmatic interfaces, web services, and real-time data processing.
  • Manage complex geospatial datasets, imagery, airport survey data, and related data products using reliable validation and distribution mechanisms.
  • Support the ADIP transition to the FAA unified cloud through cloud-first architecture, containerized microservices, and modern DevSecOps practices.

Engineering Discipline & Configuration Management

  • Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies, including daily Scrum activities, user stories, sprint planning, product backlog management, testing, and iterative delivery.
  • Develop and document software frameworks, system designs, and technical architecture before implementation.
  • Maintain version control, configuration management, and supporting technical documentation for all software products.
  • Perform user acceptance testing and support Configuration Change Control Board (CCB) activities when directed by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

Integration, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure seamless integration with existing ADIP infrastructure, NAS operational systems, and external airport management platforms.
  • Design and implement API-first solutions and web services that support secure, reliable, and timely airport data exchange.
  • Apply secure coding practices, including OWASP principles, role-based access control, and encryption of data in transit and at rest.
  • Ensure software solutions align with FAA cybersecurity, Zero Trust, cloud, and system engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate technical activities and deliverables under the direction and oversight of the COR.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience

  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant professional experience in software development, computer science, systems analysis, geospatial engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Demonstrated Experience

  • Full-lifecycle software development for geospatial, GIS, or other data-intensive systems.
  • API-first architecture, web services, and real-time data processing and distribution.
  • Cloud-native development, including containers, microservices, CI/CD, and secure software delivery.
  • Agile/Scrum development, version control, configuration management, and user acceptance testing.
  • Management and integration of geospatial data formats, imagery, airport survey datasets, or comparable complex data products.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum development processes, software architecture, and configuration management.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP principles, role-based access control, encryption, and Zero Trust concepts.
  • Ability to design reliable, scalable, and secure data processing and distribution solutions.
  • Ability to support integration with airport operations, NAS operational systems, and external data platforms.
  • Strong analytical, technical documentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the FAA or another federal aviation, airport, or transportation data program.
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS or comparable geospatial development platforms.
  • Experience developing digital Airport Layout Plan (ALP) capabilities or AC 150/5300-18 compliant outputs.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or comparable container platforms in a federal cloud environment.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration, DevSecOps, or Zero Trust implementation in a regulated environment.
  • Relevant software development, cloud, cybersecurity, or geospatial certifications.

Location: Off-site at contractor facilities within commuting distance to FAA Headquarters, Washington, D.C. and the greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area (local travel). Telework may be authorized at the discretion of the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Contracting Officer (CO).

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $115,000 - $147,000

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. FAA PIV card and access to Sensitive Unclassified Information (SUI) required.
