Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with 5–7 years of experience to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based technologies along with a deep understanding of system internals, performance optimization, and debugging across distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

·      Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot

·      Build and enhance RESTful APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and security

·      Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues across end-to-end systems, including microservices and monolithic applications

·      Optimize APIs and backend services to reduce latency and improve throughput

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready software

·      Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, security, and system design

Required Skills & Experience

·      >5 years of hands-on experience in backend development

·      Strong proficiency in Java, J2EE

·      Extensive experience with Spring Framework, especially Spring Boot

·      Strong experience with JPA/Hibernate

·      Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, with deep knowledge of SQL internals (query execution plans, indexing, optimization techniques)

·      Strong experience working with REST APIs and web services

·      Experience with microservices and monolithic architecture

·      Good exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

·      Strong understanding of security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and RBAC using Spring Security / Jakarta EE

·      Proficiency with Git or other version control systems

·      Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills

Advanced Technical Expectations

·      Ability to debug and trace issues across end-to-end distributed systems, including logs, metrics, and service interactions

·      Strong skills in API performance tuning and optimization, including reducing latency and improving response times

·      Solid foundation in Java multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization mechanisms

·      Understanding of thread management, memory models, and performance implications

·      Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks at application, database, and infrastructure levels

Nice to Have

·      Experience with Apache Lucene indexing; preferably Apache SOLR

·      Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

·      CI/CD experience using Jenkins

·      Optional exposure to Content Management Systems such as Tridion/Adobe

·      Understanding of WildFly Application Server and its Elytron security framework

·      Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ

·      Exposure to agile/scrum development methodologies

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
