Supporting the Business Suite since 2011 and thus extending its database portfolio with ASE, SAP has become a leading database vendor expecting to grow this business faster than competitive platform vendors. The ASE database platform team is working to optimize the technology infrastructure SAP NetWeaver and SAP's business applications based on it for the use with SAP ASE. We plan to intensively invest in scenarios for Continuous Availability, Business Information Warehouse, database monitoring and Ease of Use reducing TCO for SAP ASE deployments. We are looking for your engagement in one of SAP's most strategic projects. The team is fully responsible for all aspects related to the interfaces between SAP solutions and the ASE database. The intensive collaboration with the ASE database development teams in the United States and India provides a technically demanding and diversified work environment with many international contacts.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
You will work in a group of dedicated SAP and ASE experts who adjust and optimize SAP's technology with a lot of fun and enthusiasm. In this environment we look for creative solutions that exploit the capabilities of the ASE database as good as possible. For this position specifically the team's development tasks include a huge variety of activities around SAP High Availability scenarios and reduction of business downtime (planned and unplanned downtime reduction). We also focus on TCO aspects of system availability for our business customers, specifically when software maintenance is applied. We expect good skills and experience with databases with respect to avoid downtime for SAP systems and its databases. Your work will give you deep insight into SAP's technology and the ASE database. Furthermore, you will gain highly appreciated experience in dealing with different teams within SAP and customers worldwide.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of professional experience
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent university degree
- Knowledge of HA scenarios for databases, experience in database monitoring and administration automation
- SQL and relational database skills are essential; ASE knowledge is beneficial, but not required
- Experience in C/C++, database and/or ABAP programming
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Personal commitment and the ability to work independently and goal-oriented
- Fluency in German and English
