Senior Developer, integration platform development
Would you be interested in taking responsibility for a key development mission that centralizes Veikkaus’ IT/technical integrations across the organization?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Developer to join our strategically important initiative: building a centralized integration platform that brings Veikkaus’ integrations under one unified solution. Veikkaus currently has hundreds of integrations, and the goal is to move towards a more centralized and scalable approach. This new integration platform will provide development teams with a modern, standardized, and managed way to build and operate integrations.
In this role, you will be working in a team of three developers led by a Lead Developer using agile methods. Your task is to proactively participate in understanding the requirements, evaluate technical choices, and turn requirements into quality software. Apart from development, you will work with other technical teams in close collaboration ensuring that every technical detail is taken into account and the end result matches both technical and business expectations. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys building new solutions from the ground up, loves to take deep dive into technical solutions, and is comfortable working in an evolving environment.
This is not just about building a platform – it’s about creating a critical solution that makes integration work more efficient, cost-effective, and delivers real business impact.
You will thrive in this position, if you have
- A strong technical background with hands-on software development experience and solid understanding of modern technologies and development practices. The technology stack for the product is still evolving.
- Familiarity with modern security and performance best practices.
- Experience working with integration platforms, high-availability systems, and integration patterns (incl. event-driven architectures)
- Experience with modern cloud environments (GCP/AWS), containerization, CI/CD, and scalable architectures
- Solid experience with API-first design, streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka, Pub/Sub), and enterprise integration patterns (e.g. ESB, Apache Camel)
- Familiarity with different Agile practices and a solid understanding of of what enables an efficient software development process.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with complex stakeholder environments
- Fluent English skills (spoken and written)

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week. The position is permanent and full-time.
