Responsibilities
- Shaping the horizon: It’s in your hands to decide what can make everyone happy
- new or better tools/automation, new platform components. Doing all this as optimally as possible.
- Developer Experience: Lead the adoption of best practices for CI/CD and monitoring parts.
- Cloud Migration: Curate the implementation of hybrid-cloud setup for our Client's data platform
- Collaboration: Provide your expert’s advice on infrastructural services and cloud stack for operation support engineers (SL2) during incident investigation and mitigation. Work closely with software engineers on implementing new platform offerings
Skills
Must have
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
- Linux expertise: sensible knowledge of Linux internals, expert shell scripting.
- Programming proficiency: basic proficiency with at least one JVM language (Java, Scala/Kotlin) and Python
- Automation experience: hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms like classic ones (Teamcity/Jenkins) and modern ones (GitHub Actions is a plus)
- Verifiable experience with containers and orchestration (k8s), related tooling (like Helm or Grafana).
- Experience with major cloud providers (GCP is a strong plus).
- Experience with Infra as Code tools (like Terraform or Pulumi) is a must.
- Monitoring & instrumentation: hands-on experience with logging, monitoring & alerting tools (e.g LGTM stack or competitors)
Nice to have
- Distributed systems experience: operational experience with distributed services deployment
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in Kubernetes environments, including deployment and operations using the Strimzi Operator, Kafka cluster setup/configuration, and ongoing infrastructure management (scaling, monitoring, reliability, and maintenance).
- Familiarity with Hadoop stack, Apache Spark, and analytical database system (like Clickhouse/BigQuery/Exadata)
- Enterprise Cloud tools: experience with OpenShift (plus), hybrid on-prem/cloud setups (like Google Anthos)
