The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

Job / Role Summary

The Senior Engineer supports advanced NAND dry etch process development by improving process windows, optimizing recipes, and troubleshooting yield/quality issues in collaboration with Process Integration and other module teams. The role requires strong experimental discipline (DOE/SPC), structured problem-solving, and the ability to translate technology requirements into production-worthy process improvements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced dry etch process development tasks including process window analysis, recipe optimization, and tool continuous improvement evaluation for 3D NAND technology.

  • Troubleshoot process issues as part of cross-functional teams to improve yield and quality and take ownership of assigned improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Process Integration and other process development areas (Wet Etch, CVD/Diffusion, Metals, Lithography, CMP) to develop and integrate solutions.

  • Conduct root cause / failure mode analysis and work with vendors/suppliers where needed to close hardware/process gaps.

  • Support pilot-line execution and process transfer activities as required by program needs.

Other Responsibilities

  • Drive process simplification and incorporate best-known manufacturing methods into early development of upcoming nodes.

  • Document experiments, results, and learnings; present progress and risks in technical forums.

  • Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.

  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Required Qualifications / Experience

  • PhD, or Master’s ≥3 yrs, or Bachelor’s ≥5 yrs of relevant experience in
Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field

  • Evidence of strong aptitude for technology development and experimental/data analysis work in a dry etch / semiconductor context.

Must-have technical skills

  • Fundamentals in dry etch processing and at least one of: thermodynamics, transport phenomena, kinetics, or plasma physics.

  • DOE, statistics/SPC, and comfort with analysis tools.

Must-have soft skills

  • Structured problem-solving and ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • Cross-functional collaboration and clear written/verbal communication.

Highly desirable / preferred

  • Data science basics / Python scripting experience (helpful for analysis/automation).
