Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Front-End Engineer with strong experience in building modern, scalable web applications using React and TypeScript. The ideal candidate is proficient in component-driven architecture, GraphQL client integration, state management, and front-end DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain React applications using TypeScript, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Build efficient GraphQL operations.
  • Develop reusable, well-tested UI components and maintain a consistent design system.
  • Deploy releases and hotfixes to production environments.
  • Debug issues in production or development environments.
  • Write unit/integration tests as part of each feature/bug fix.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with back-end engineers and product stakeholders to deliver robust and maintainable systems.
  • Apply front-end best practices for performance, accessibility, security, and code quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering standards, and support continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end software development.
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript and React.
  • Experience with GraphQL clients (Apollo Client or equivalent) and consuming API schemas.
  • Solid understanding of component architecture, state management patterns, and modern React paradigms.
  • Familiarity with AWS-hosted front-end infrastructure (S3, CloudFront, API Gateway).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows.
  • Able to perform root cause analysis on issues within the application.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Knowledge (Nice-to-Have):

  • Familiarity with AWS CDK or IaC for front-end infrastructure configuration.
  • Performance optimization techniques (code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies).
  • Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA / 508 compliance).
  • FedRAMP or other certification knowledge.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership of features from design to deployment.
  • A developer who enjoys solving complex UI/UX challenges in a cloud-first environment.
  • A collaborative team member who values quality, reliability, and maintainable code.
  • A team member that reflects our foundational behaviors: Client service, flexibility, respect, stewardship, commitment, initiative, innovation, and teamwork.

Clearance:

Applicants may need to be the subject of a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, to include U.S. Citizenship.

Compensation:

Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000
Final compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications.

In-Person Interview:
Our hiring process requires one in-person meeting, typically the final interview. Travel and accommodations will be provided.

Remote Work:
Though predominantly remote, infrequent office visits will be required, typically quarterly. All travel costs for these visits will be covered by Unison.

Why Join Unison:
