Job description

At Arctic Wolf, we're not just navigating the cybersecurity landscape - we're redefining it. Our global team of dedicated Pack members is driving innovation and setting new industry standards every day. Our impact speaks for itself: we've earned recognition on the Forbes Cloud 100, CNBC Disruptor 50,

Fortune Future 50, and Fortune Cyber 60 lists, and we recently took home the 2024 CRN Products of the Year award. We’re proud to be named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Managed Detection and Response Services and earning a Customers' Choice distinction from Gartner Peer Insights. Our Aurora Platform also received CRN’s Products of the Year award in the inaugural Security Operations Platform category. Join a company that’s not only leading, but also shaping, the future of security operations.

Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk.

We’re looking for a Senior Developer 2 to be part of making this happen.

As a Senior Developer 2, You will work across the full technology stack—building scalable backend services, modern user experiences, and cloud-native solutions. In addition to delivering high-impact features, you will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, drive engineering best practices, and collaborate across teams to shape the technical direction of the platform. You will collaborate closely with our Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to guarantee release readiness and high-quality delivery with a heavy focus on automation, reliability, and quality assurance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.

  • Strong experience building production-grade applications across both frontend and backend technologies.

  • Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Go and Python (Bonus - React).

  • Experience designing and building REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC; e.g. Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management tools

  • Strong understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS and cloud networking concepts and architecture (VPCs, subnetting, routing, CDNs, load balancers, security groups)

  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and services

  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bazel) with a focus on deploying to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

  • Experience with build tools and systems (e.g., Make, Bazel)

  • Expertise in release automation and orchestration frameworks/tools

  • Experience with code quality and security tooling (e.g. SonarQube)

  • Strong understanding of release engineering principles and best practices

  • Strong system design, debugging, and performance optimization skills.

  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering decisions across teams.

  • Experience preparing, reviewing and executing deployment plans, release plans, MOPs and rollback procedures for production environments

  • Proficiency across multiple operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS; Intel, ARM)

  • Experience leading an Agile/Scrum team

  • Experience owning or orchestrating large-scale or enterprise software releases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience debugging and deciphering network and/or endpoint device logs

  • Experience delivering and deploying cloud-based software as well as endpoint software

  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting platforms (e.g. Grafana/Prometheus/Sentry/Datadog)

About the Role

You'll be working as a Senior Developer 2 on our MDR Endpoint cloud team, responsible for ensuring quality through automation, executing deployments, and maintaining the reliability of Arctic Wolf's endpoint software across multiple platforms and cloud environments.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be:

  • Act as the technical lead of the team, focused on designing, architecting, and overseeing all the team’s projects

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across customer environments and geographies

  • Design and implement automated builds, testing, deployment, and rollback strategies

  • Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and workflows for cloud-based services

  • Build and maintain quality gates and validation frameworks to ensure release readiness

  • Collaborate with software developers, QA, customer support, and product teams to ensure high-quality delivery

  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues and assist with root cause analysis

  • Manage and optimize infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and vSphere environments

  • Build runbooks and documentation for internal teams and end users

  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements during deployments

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of team processes, leveraging automation to ensure efficiency, reliability, and quality

  • Evaluate and implement new relevant technologies and tools

  • Mentor junior engineers

  • Assist and contribute to intra/inter-team planning
