JOB SUMMARY
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain scalable web applications using Python frameworks such as Django and front-end tools like React
- Design and develop APIs and backend services that support data-driven use cases
- Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Functions, Containers, Storage, SQL, and Databricks
- Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Improve application performance, reliability, and security across the stack
- Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
- Automate build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Mentor engineers and contribute to consistent engineering practices
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- Experience: 7+ years of professional software development with Python
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Back-end: Hands-on experience building applications with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
- Front-end: Experience building user interfaces using JavaScript, including React
- Data: Experience writing SQL queries and performing data analysis tasks
- Cloud / Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including App Service, Functions, Containers, and Storage
- DevOps: Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
- Tools: Experience using GitHub, VS Code, and modern development environments
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document decisions and collaborate across teams
NICE TO HAVE
- Data: Experience with Azure Databricks, including PySpark, Delta Lake, and data workflows
- Domain: Knowledge of risk management or financial services
- Observability: Familiarity with monitoring and tracing practices such as OpenTelemetry
- AI: Experience using AI tools in the development process
