Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Front-End React Framework Developer with Backend Python experience to join our dynamic team within Global Trading at ExxonMobil. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of both front-end and backend development, with a strong emphasis on creating and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications.
This role requires a professional who can seamlessly integrate into our team, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that drive our trading operations. The contract will be for one year, and the candidate will be required to work in our office located in Spring, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain modern web applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Work closely with traders and analysts to capture requirements and provide timely, effective support
- Design, build, and optimize backend systems and ETL workflows using Python
- Integrate front-end applications with backend services and databases
- Ensure code quality through version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
- Optimize web applications for performance, security, and scalability
- Contribute to data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Support data curation processes to ensure high-quality, well-documented datasets
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Advanced experience in front-end development using React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Proficiency in backend development with Python (including Pandas and ETL workflows) and Node.js or similar technologies
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure, with working knowledge of AWS and Google Cloud
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage workload in fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in SQL, data modeling, indexing, and query optimization
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Snowflake
- Experience designing scalable data ingestion pipelines
- Proficiency in data curation and data quality management
- Knowledge of web performance optimization and security best practices
- Experience in commodity trading
